Our technicians are manufacturer-trained, which matters more on opener service than almost any other garage door work. Each brand has specific electronic systems, board configurations, and warranty rules. A tech who’s guessing voids your warranty and often replaces parts that aren’t actually broken. If your existing opener is over 12 years old, replacing it with a new Wi-Fi enabled opener often makes more sense than adding a hub. New units have Wi-Fi built in, faster operation, quieter belt drives, battery backup, and modern security.
We configure Alexa skills, Google Home device pairing, and Apple HomeKit integration during installation so you can use voice commands ("Alexa, close the garage") and include the garage in smart home routines.
Two paths: MyQ Smart Garage Hub (best for openers under 15 years old) or full opener replacement with built-in smart unit (best if over 15 years old). We assess and recommend what makes financial sense.
Florida law requires battery backup on openers installed since 2020. A power outage during a hurricane is exactly when you need to open the garage. We retrofit backup units on older openers.

The brand we service most often. We repair and install every current and legacy LiftMaster model including 8500W, 87504, 8550, 84501, and 8365 series. We're trained on Professional series, belt drive, chain drive, screw drive, jackshaft, and DC battery backup units. Common stock items on our trucks: drive gears, trolleys, logic boards, capacitors, and remote/keypad replacements.
Owned by the same parent company as LiftMaster, sharing much of the same electronics and parts. We service the full Chamberlain residential line including Whisper Drive series, the popular B6753T, B2405, and B4613T models, the RJO70, and Chamberlain MyQ Smart Garage Hub. Many Chamberlain repairs use parts interchangeable with LiftMaster.
60+ years making garage door openers, using different control systems than LiftMaster and Chamberlain. We service the full Genie line including the popular SilentMax 1000, Pro Screw Drive, Excelerator series, and 7055 and 7155 TKV models. Trained on Genie Intellicode (their proprietary security frequency system) for remote and keypad programming.
Craftsman discontinued their opener line several years ago, but the installed base in Tampa is huge. Many Craftsman openers were rebranded LiftMaster or Chamberlain units, which means parts compatibility for repair is good. We service Craftsman 1/2 HP and 1/3 HP openers including AssureLink models. If your Craftsman is over 15 years old, we'll be honest about repair vs. replace economics.
We also service Marantec direct-drive openers, Linear residential and commercial openers, Raynor openers, Wayne Dalton openers (including units paired with TorqueMaster spring systems), and other regional brands. If your opener has a logo on it, we likely service it. If we don't, we'll tell you honestly and refer you to someone who does.

Licensed tech arrives in the agreed window. Full diagnostic on opener (motor, board, gears, sensors, drive system), door balance, and safety systems. We identify what's actually wrong.
Firm written quote. For repair, that's parts, labor, warranty. For replacement, that's the new opener, install, removal, programming, warranty. No work starts until you approve.
Most repairs finish in the same visit. New opener installations are typically scheduled within 1 to 3 business days. Stock smart openers install same-week most of the time.

Most residential garage door openers last 15 to 20 years with regular use (about 1,500 cycles per year). Belt drive openers tend to outlast chain drives by a few years because they have less metal-on-metal wear. Heavy use shortens lifespan; light use extends it. By year 15, parts availability and electronic reliability start to lag, which is when most homeowners benefit from replacement rather than continued repair.
Three common possibilities: (1) the GFI outlet the opener is plugged into has tripped (check and reset it), (2) the surge from the power restoration damaged the logic board, or (3) your remotes need to be reprogrammed because the opener’s memory cleared. The first is a 30-second fix. The second usually requires a board replacement. The third we can do in 5 minutes per remote.
Usually yes, with caveats. We service openers from every major brand going back 25+ years. For older Craftsman, Genie, and discontinued models, parts availability becomes the limiting factor. Many older Craftsman openers were rebranded LiftMaster or Chamberlain units, so parts compatibility is good. For genuinely obsolete units where parts are no longer manufactured, we’ll be honest and recommend replacement.
HP rating describes the motor’s lifting power. 1/3 HP openers handle standard single-car uninsulated doors and are the budget option. 1/2 HP is the most common rating in residential garages, handling standard double-car doors and most insulated doors. 3/4 HP is recommended for heavy doors (real wood, heavily insulated, or oversized). Match the HP to the door, not just the price; an underpowered opener wears out fast and can damage the door.
Not necessarily. If your existing opener is under 10 years old, working well, and rated for the new door’s weight, you can keep it. If it’s over 12 years old, we typically recommend replacing both at the same time because installation labor is nearly free when the door is already being worked on, and a new modern opener integrates better with new doors. We’ll give you an honest assessment during the consultation.
Each brand has a different programming sequence, usually involving pressing a learn button on the opener motor unit and then pressing the remote/keypad button within a 30-second window. We program every remote and keypad on every install and repair as part of standard service. If you’ve added a new vehicle remote or replaced a battery and lost programming, we can program it during a service visit, or in many cases walk you through it over the phone.
Yes, in most cases. The MyQ Smart Garage Hub adds full smartphone control to almost any opener manufactured since 1993. We install the hub, configure the MyQ app on your phone, pair it with your existing opener, and walk you through the smart features. Typically takes 30 to 45 minutes total. If your opener is significantly older than 1993, full opener replacement is usually the better path.
The wall button and remote work on different control systems internally. If one works and the other doesn’t, the failed system is the issue: usually a broken wall button, damaged wiring between the button and the motor, or a failing logic board input. Almost always a quick repair. Most common cause we see is the wall button itself failing, which is a $30 part.
For most Tampa homes, belt drive. The noise difference is significant. If your garage shares a wall or ceiling with living space, the difference between belt and chain drive is the difference between “I never notice the garage” and “I always know when someone’s coming home.” Chain drive is the right call only for detached garages, workshops, or commercial applications where strength matters more than sound.
